Stalk

I was surprised to discover that this 2014 series, Stalker, was pulled from schedule not knowing exactly whether it will continue or just hang there unfinished.

I like the story development. As each episode unfolds, Detective Beth Davis solves short term stalking cases with her team when she herself, a victim, faces  long term on her own.

Stalking is a big deal, just like bullying. Both of them are alarming. I have facebook friends who experience poser, or someone using their name and pictures as if it was their own. Not many are aware of the legal actions against that except report it as abuse to the social media management.

What made me like the series more is the concept when Beth was relieved temporarily of her command and someone took over.
Vicki Gregg: It's great to see you again despite the circumstances.
Beth Davis: You, too. Please, use my office.
Vicki Gregg: No. Beth, I'm not here to replace you. I'm just here to help. I'll work out in the conference room until this is all resolved.
Beth Davis: Thanks.
Beth's team didn't know about her past life until she filled them up with details so that they can catch up because it returned and escalated. She shared her story because they are not just team members, they are also friends and family at the same time who will be there with her through it.

I think this shows the message just like other films: the protagonist does not always offer the help. Sometimes they need it as well.

I hope it resumes. I was frustrated enough for The Gates and The Tomorrow People to be cancelled for another season. This one has not even ended one yet.

Then and Now

Old Betty: Wow! What's happened to you? I mean you've changed. I barely even recognize you...
Present Betty: Look, I have not changed...
...
Betty: Christina, have I changed...?
Christina: Well, I think it's hard not to change. I don't know. It's this place, it does something to you.

My college friends have told me at random times that I have changed... not just once. What are the odds of this circumstance? I mean, for me to watch this particular episode (Season 2 Episode 08) on my special day plus the fact that in the series, Christmas is also approaching. Welcome to our world.

Somehow, I've been known as a nerd, a weird, but not yet called a geek. What's the difference? They are almost similar if not exactly the same. The bottomline: others see me as the smart guy.

If I try to go back and look at how I was then, I cannot say for sure that I have changed now. I see some glimpse of some small changes but it's quite difficult to measure it unless I have someone who was with me from high school to college to differentiate me then and now. Situation varies and adaptation is necessary. After all, we have to get out of our box and comfort zone as we grow up. We won't be certain of what's ahead of us in the real world. It can either be fancy or cruel, ideal or messy; we can expect but we are not sure if our expectations will be met. At this times that things are going so fast, staying in one place might just be the last option.

Two days prior to this day, God wants me to know (via Facebook) that...

"Today we believe God wants us to know that ...
it doesn't matter what everyone else thinks.
People are always judging each other and, the truth is, they're not very good at it. Don't put a lot of concern into what people think of you. You weren't created to please and entertain everyone. You were created to be you, so feel good about yourself."

This is a great thing to know and it is true. We cannot please everybody but aren't we living to please God Almighty alone? Well, happy 20th birthday to me and I wish everyone an advance Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. To God be the glory!

"Hey, growing up, doesn't matter what you do for a living. There are always going to have tough choices to make... I really think you can stay here and still be the person you want to be."

Dexter

Garrett: You don’t have a dark side.
Theresa: Sure I do. Everyone does.
It’s just that when you’re around, it
likes to keep itself hidden.
-excerpt from "Message in the Bottle"
by Nicholas Sparks

This is totally awesome. I love the character; it is very brilliant.

A friend of mine once said that it is brutal, but I find it very, very interesting now that I've already watched it. Okay, I admit it - tt is sort of brutal, but I don't mind it at all. In some ways, I am similar to him but I tell you for sure that I do not drive a dark passenger.

I came to view this story in series because of my brother and now that I want it, I downloaded eBooks to find out how it was first written and I discovered that its structure is equally magnificent. It is a poetic narration from a first person point-of-view as another friend described it and I agree with that.

Now, in relation to the aforementioned conversation from another book, it is reflected in the character of Dexter, a "very neat monster" as Jeffry Lindsay puts it in his book series in which the first one was entitled "Darkly Dreaming Dexter." I will create a separate entry once I finish reading it.

Though the story is bloody, a lot of lessons can be truly learned. Even those that you already know will be better realized and reinforced.

Viewer discretion is still advise because definitely, its content is for mature audience.

That AWKWARD Moment...

Some scenes and languages are not suitable
for very young audiences.
Parental guidance is advised.

I didn't expect the pilot episode to open like that. They are still in high school. That's not normal here in the Philippines. I'm not saying that it's really a normal scenario for them, what I mean is, after all, they are in and from a liberal country, and we are in and from a conservative one.

I like the weird sense of humor though, and sometimes the exaggeration. Of course, the annoying line of Sadie, "You're welcome."

Jenna's parents are very supportive , most especially her dad. But, there was this awkward moment at the season finale where she might have discovered who wrote and sent her the letter that either helped or ruined her life, something to look forward to in season two.

Nevertheless, I will always be part of Team Jake. Boys will be boys, and girls will be girls. But in a relationship,  it is always important to define it or else, you will have no direction, and the quality for a relationship guy is found in... none other than JAKE!!!

In the show, there are two guys who portray different personalities of men. Jake: a smart, outgoing class president; a sensitive guy with a heart of gold.* The other is Matty: popular, athletic, handsome, insecure.* Among the two, I can relate more with Jake and I will always admire his being gentleman. As for Matty, I will never like the way how he treats Jenna. And of course, Jenna, Jenna, Jenna, That Girl Daily? From Invisible Girl Daily? Really? Whatever! I hate you for pushing yourself too hard onto someone who's not the type to totally make you happy. In my opinion, you deserve Jake.

But never underestimate the power of the production team! It is them who decides how to run the story. We might not know, in the end, maybe, Jenna and Matty will be together. I hate the thought. There's still the possibility that she will go with Jake. We'll never know. Let's just keep on watching and see what will happen. :P

Any Relationship Problems?

What makes up an ideal couple?

Maybe a lot would answer this question, but I think everyone will agree with me that there is no simple answer to that. I have not yet engaged myself in a relationship, but I believe that we should let all things fall into their places.

'Perfect Couples' is a series that talks about a relationship not only between the two of you but also your relationship with people around you. It's only today that I've watched another episode of it and I doubt if it still has continuation. What I watched may be the last one because as I've looked around the net, there has been no clue yet if there will still be a next one. It is a good series, though I regret it to have ended early.

In any way, are you experiencing relationship problems? Watch Perfect Couples and see how they solve those problems.

The Walking Dead

Ever since I was a kid, I am a fan of zombies, whether it be a a game or a movie.

I am really hooked up into Resident Evil 3 Nemesis in play station one and computer. Eventually, the movie was released. There came Resident Evil. Resident Evil Apocalypse followed. Resident Evil Extinction came afterward. Then, we have Resident Evil Afterlife. I watched them a lot over and over again.

Although I wasn't able to follow the story of the games Capcom release, I like the story shown in the movie. When Extinction came out, the first time I watched it, I kind of became confused. The first and second movie were awesome and then all of a sudden, it was like that? They killed my idol, Carlos Olivera, and my other idol, Jill Valentine, had only a small time appearance. I also disliked Afterlife. However, for the third and fourth movie, as I watched them repeatedly, I finally liked them and I understood the story. Now, I'm waiting for the reappearance of Jill on the fifth movie. I am still hoping to see Ada Wong.

This is the first time that I saw a zombie story that is in series. It's entitled The Walking Dead. I like it so much. I remember 28 Days Later, 28 Weeks Later, I Am Legend. I finished the first season already. Although the reason how everything got started wasn't explained, I was amazed at how the story went. It was a story of how to survive a city full of zombies while facing some struggles and conflicts with your comrades.

"Just one bite, one scratch, you will become one of them." My most memorable line of the red queen in Resident Evil 1 and "Shoot them in the head!" of Jill Valentine in Resident Evil Apocalypse.

Now, the word that you'll hear from me will be "Walkers!"

Oh, by the way, I am entertained in Plants vs Zombies. It is a relaxing zombie story contrasted to other zombie stories like Left for Dead. Hehe.. XD

The Woman Who Fights With Poise

I still remember that the first time I saw this was on a bus from Lawton. We were on our way home and because it was already late at night, the transportation that we can use at that time was bus.

I was interested in it. Knowing that the driver and the ticket inspector played it in a DVD player, I waited for its title to show up. That caught my attention as an avid film viewer. That's how I met Nikita technically speaking because I did not see her then. Only her friends.

Would you believe if I say that right after seeing it, I told myself that I didn't like it, that I won't watch it? See how it turned out? I am watching it.

The episode on the bus was only the second. That's something not easy to forget because I judged so early. That's it, just sharing. Until my next entry, see you!

F.A.M.I.L.Y.*

When we say family, what comes to your mind? Is it *"Father and Mother, I love you"?

There is no perfect family, but in my eyes there are some. Yes, maybe not perfect, but each completes one another and the whole as well. They all are compatible.

This show "No Ordinary Family" talks about a specific family who acquired powers, something others became envious, the ones we call antagonists. Along the way, some family issues are being discussed. Trust, love, marriage, friendship, and anniversary are only some of them.

Though the effect isn't so high-tech, I didn't give attention to it. The series is still beautiful because it has the story. However, the network didn't continue it any further after the first season.

While watching it, though the power part is fictitious, some scenarios happen in real life and I still wonder...

When talking about family, I always remember my favorite line in "The Proposal." It goes like this: "I forgot... I forgot what it is to have a family."

Even though it's not all the time, I still dream of a place called home. Who said that someone like me has a perfect life?

Despite of all of these things, all that matters to me is that my family IS COMPLETE and that's something. That's the important thing. We are still together. Because in the end, the people who will stand by you is your family, your family who will always support you.

Killing Spree*

There's a series of murder on a wedding party for one week and you're stuck with just one killer, eliminating members of your group whenever possible. But you later discover that he has an accomplice running and hiding with you, even helping. What would you do?

Who's like me who loves to watch horror and mystery? I recommend "Harper's Island"!

Well, what can I say? It's full of twists and turns. It's like 'Survivor.' There's this part in the series where Trish and her dad was pursued by a dog and I really freaked out. Dogs don't like me, so I don't like them. I almost jumped from the sofa. They just went from "an accident" in the woods and then when you meet a person to ask for help, all he gives is a dog on the loose? And when you thought it was all over, when Danny was playing cards with the creepy Madison- yeah, she's creepy; want to check her out?- and they were having fun, it was so startling when the serial killer just grabbed Danny in his neck with a belt. Now, I don't really like to live in an island. Not that I cannot live. I can. It's just that I'm not comfortable with all woods around you, even though I love the color green, and you are away from the main land.

But in the end, I got happy because Abby and Jimmy ended up together. I like them as couple. Haha! I had been waiting for each episode whether Jimmy will be able to survive and yes, he did! Until the end. Abby was like, untouchable. So, don't worry about her. :D

I also have other favorite scenarios. One is when Richard was harpooned when he was outside talking to somebody over the phone. You will think that his daughter witnessed what happened because you can see her in the window of her room. Sad to say, but it's still funny, because what she saw was dirt on her face because she's in front of a mirror in front of the window. Cool, huh? The other scene is when Chloe acted as a girlfriend of a local guy because he found the ring of Cal, which he would have used to propose to her but got lost days ago, and used it to propose to his girlfriend. Chloe slapped the guy real hard, and his girlfriend bought the acting and threw the ring, so Cal looked for it. When he got it, they ran towards the door laughing. Hahaha! XD

After watching the special episodes 'Solved' and 'Unsolved', filming is proven not to be easy. You have to go in places for locations that is appropriate for the scene. Also, creating props for decapitated and torn-into-two bodies, head, skull, and designing a set takes a lot of time. But it was worth it because it turned out to be really creepy, exciting, suspenseful. You really have to see into each character to know, or guess, who the killer/s are because the cast were able to portray the desired people involved in the story.

Trivia:
The titles for each episode are an onomatopoeia alluding to the method of murder used by the killer in that particular episode.
